LEXINGTON TWO TO PROVIDE FREE BREAKFAST, LUNCH BAGS AT SCHOOL SITES AND BY BUS AS LONG AS SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED
Lexington Two will serve free breakfast and lunch weekdays, Monday through Friday, to any child in need while schools are closed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Meals for youth ages 18 and younger will be offered by Sodexo, the district’s food service provider, at the following locations. Students must be present to receive a meal.
Here are the options for getting meals:
SCHOOL SITES: From 11 a.m.-1 p.m. weekdays, a brown-bag lunch, along with breakfast for the following day, will be provided at these Lexington Two schools:
BUS DELIVERY: Starting Monday, March 23, a brown bag lunch, along with breakfast for the following day, will be dropped off at select stops of Lexington Two’s regular bus routes. There are four buses running routes, with each named for the school it’s departing from — Airport, Cayce, Riverbank, Wood. The bus stops with the largest numbers of students on regularly run routes, as well as some that are more centrally located, have been selected for the launch of this service. LUNCH AND SNACK: In addition to school options, Turner AME Church will be providing a lunch and snack from 12 p.m.-1 p.m. Monday through Friday. The church is at 1122 Monticello Road.
