Legionnaires from American Legion Post 193 of Chapin, SC will lay to rest the cremated remains of two Veterans at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery November 17 at 11 am.

One is previously unclaimed Army Veteran, Glenn Duncan Jr. and one who is unaccompanied, Air Force Veteran Gregory Politte, whose brother Nelson had claimed him but could not be present. Little is known about Duncan beyond the fact that he served his Country when called upon to do so. Seargeant Politte served in the Air Force for six years in assignments overseas and in the States.

There is no family to lay them to rest with the honor and dignity they deserve, so the American Legion, Patriot Guard, Vietnam Veterans of America, The Veterans of Foreign Wars and many other Veterans from across the state will ensure that these two receive the honorable and dignified interment they deserve.

This interment is being supported by Veterans and community members from across the state of South Carolina. Their Last Ride Motorcycle Hearse Service and accompanying motorcycle escort, will transport the cremated remains . Juveniles from the SC Department of Juvenile Justice built the urns and will also attend the service.

The remains will be escorted to the Fort Jackson National Cemetery from the Chapin American Legion Post 193 at 102 Lexington Avenue Chapin, at 10:20 am by American Legion Riders and members of the Patriot Guard.

Chapin Post 193 Chaplain Richard Mullinax will officiate at the ceremony. An Honor Guard from the Army, Air Force and American Legion Post 71, North Augusta will provide full military honors. The public is invited to attend.
