Lexington Police Selling Autism Awareness Patches to Benefit SC Autism Society

Lexington, S.C. – The Lexington Police Department is showing its support for the autism community with the release of a special, limited-edition Autism Awareness uniform patch. The initiative, done in partnership with the Autism Society of South Carolina (SCAS), aims to foster greater understanding and acceptance of individuals on the autism spectrum in the Lexington area.

The commemorative patch is available for $15 and can be purchased in person during regular business hours at the Lexington Police Department, 111 Maiden Lane. All proceeds will benefit SCAS and support a wide range of services including:

  • Case management
  • Parent-school partnerships
  • Workforce development and job coaching
  • Advocacy and quality of life support services

“This is more than just a patch—it’s a symbol of our commitment to supporting every member of our community,” said officials from the department.

The entire project was made possible by funding from the Lexington Police Department Foundation, ensuring that every dollar raised goes directly toward helping the autism community across South Carolina.
