MSC holds two tournaments in April

Great competition and windy fishing result in good weigh-in for two Midland Striper Club tournaments this month.

Midlands Striper Club held its monthly Lake Murray tournament in combination with the 2025 DNR Open Tournament out of Dreher Island on April 19.

A total of 24 teams participated in the MSC April Tournament and 27 teams participated in the 2025 DNR Open Tournament. There were 33 striped bass that were brought to the scales weighing a total of 232.65 pounds with a 7.05-pound average.

There were 16 teams who brought a full two fish creel to the scales.

The MSC April Tournament results:
Finishing in first place with a total weight of 19.67 pounds was team Stone Age captained by Rick Sineath, along with Liz Sineath.

The Team Wildman Big Fish Award sponsored by The Nichols Store went to team Stone Age with an 11.29-pound striper.

Youth Angler Noah Baumgardner

Finishing in second place with a total weight of 17.43 pounds was team Reel Guys captained by Joby Wetzel along with Bruce Brown.

Finishing in third place with a total weight of 17.05 pounds was team Catchall captained by Lee Thomas, along with Carl Thompson, Sr., and Kreg Frady.

Lady Angler went to Liz Sineath from team Stone Age.

Youth Angler went to Noah Baumgardner from team River Rats.

Middle of the Pack went to team Rocky Bottom at 14.52 pounds.

Smallest creel went to team Wynn One with a total weight of 6.06 pounds.

The MSC DNR Open results are as follows:

Finishing in first place with a total weight of 19.67 pounds was team Stone Age captained by Rick Sineath, along with Liz Sineath.

Finishing in second place with a total weight of 18.11 pounds was team Striper Redemption captained by Tommy Richardson along with Wendy Richardson.

Team Reel Guys

Finishing in third place with a total weight of 17.43 pounds was team Reel Guys captained by Joby Wetzel along with Bruce Brown.

Finishing in fourth place with a total weight of 17.05 pounds was team Catchall captained by Lee Thomas, along with Carl Thompson, Sr., and Kreg Frady.

Finishing in fifth place with a total weight of 16.68 pounds was team One More Fish captained by Jim Reese along with Billy Upton and Tucker Upton.

First Big Fish went to team Stone Age with an 11.29-pound striper.

Second Big Fish went to team Reel Guys with a 10.50-pound striper.

The TWT went to team One More Fish.

Midlands Striper Club is a family oriented fishing organization dedicated to preserving our fisheries for generations to come. MSC’s next monthly meeting is scheduled for May 13 at 7 pm at the Flight Deck in Lexington. The next tournament is May 17 at Shelter Two on Dreher Island.
