The Citadel officially welcomes the Class of 2021. The incoming class of more than 800 new cadets and students represents 42 states and six foreign countries. The latest class to arrive at The Citadel boasts record numbers of women cadets and ethnic minority cadets.

The Citadel offers a military college education for young men and women focused on leadership excellence and academic distinction. Graduates are not required to serve in the military but about 30 percent of each class commission as officers in every branch of U.S. military service.
