Lexington Post 7’s senior team is off to a 2-0 start.
It opened the season with a 9-8 victory in extra innings at Rock Hill Post 34. The game was tied at 6-6 in the top of the 8th inning when Logan Blight of Lexington hit a 2-run single.
Matthew Bishop was hit by a pitch to drive in a run to make it 9-6. Rock Hill got within a run with a 2-run homer, but Jackson Burton got the final two outs.
On Monday, pitcher Grant Kissner of Lexington struck out three and allowed two hits in four innings of an 8-0 victory over Winnsboro Post 16. Tradd Burton went 2-3 with an RBI and Logan Blight and Lincoln Hill and Tucker Bryan all drove in a run.
It was the first League 3 win for Lexington. The realigned region now includes Winnsboro and Chapin/Newberry Post 193/24 to go with West Columbia Post 79 and Richland Post 215.
