During Fort Jackson Night this past Saturday, the Lexington County Blowfish with Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott presented a check of $3,660 to USO South Carolina in support of the non-profit organization’s efforts to assist troops by providing them morale, welfare and recreation-type services.
Portions of the funds were raised from a softball game sponsored by the Blowfish between the Lexington and Richland County Sheriff’s Departments. USO South Carolina works with service members and their families traveling through Columbia Metropolitan Airport and those stationed at Fort Jackson, Fort Gordon, Shaw Air Force Base, 81st Regional Support Command and McEntire Joint National Guard Base.
