Columbia Streams Art Program Now Accepting Applications

Columbia artists have an exciting opportunity to showcase their talents while making a meaningful impact on the community. The Columbia Streams Art Program is now accepting applications for micro-grants ranging from $500 to $1,500, awarding funding to 20 local artists.

Eligible projects must align with one of the following themes:

  • Celebrating Columbia’s History: Artwork should amplify the rich history and stories of Columbia.
  • Promoting River Awareness: Projects should enhance public knowledge of Columbia’s rivers—the Saluda, Broad, and Congaree—and encourage recreational activities at river access points.
  • Advancing Sustainability: Art should address issues like climate change, heat reduction, beautification, and conservation.

The micro-grants are open to artists who live or work in the Columbia area, with preference given to those who have previously exhibited in Columbia or the greater South Carolina region.

To apply and review full submission criteria, visit Mayor Daniel Rickenmann’s information page on the City of Columbia website: https://mayor.columbiasc.gov/micro-grant-submission-form.

Application Deadline: 5 p.m. on February 10. A juried panel will review submissions and begin the selection process the following week.
