Discover and Learn at South Carolina State Museum’s Spring Break and Summer Camps

The South Carolina State Museum announces the return of its engaging and educational camps for children aged 6-12 in 2024. Sponsored by Aflac, the spring break and summer camps offer a diverse range of activities, ensuring an enriching experience for young minds.

Spring Break Camps (April 1-5): Running from 8:30 am to 3 pm (with an optional Extended Day Camp till 5:30 pm for an additional fee), the spring break camps provide a daily exploration of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Campers, divided into age groups 6-8 and 9-12, can sign up for individual days or the entire week.

  • April 1: ET Phone Gnome – Explore stars and create an alien friend.
  • April 2: Healthy Humans – Learn about food groups and enjoy interactive games.
  • April 3: Coding by Color – Discover coding with robots like Ozobot Evo and Sphero Indi.
  • April 4: Young Paleontologists – Dig into fossils and South Carolina’s natural history.
  • April 5: Quirky SC – Explore unusual South Carolina facts and attractions.

Summer Camps (June – August): Running throughout June to August, the summer camps offer week-long sessions with diverse activities such as museum exploration, 4D and planetarium shows, and problem-based educational projects. Camps are tailored for age groups 6-8 and 9-12.

  • Camps for 6-8 Year-Olds: Exploring Our Space, Beep. Bop. Boop., Classical Fantastical Creations, Sense-ational Art, Girls Can Do It.
  • Camps for 9-12 Year-Olds: Inventive History, The Art of History, Revin’ Up Our RAM, Journey Through the Stars, “Tink” Outside the Box.
