Discover Excellence: The Center’s Open House and Spring Showcase

The Center for Advanced Technical Studies (The Center) extends an invitation to the community for an Open House and Spring Showcase, unlocking the doors to a world of innovation and education. This event, scheduled for February 7 from 5 – 7 pm, offers a unique opportunity to explore the school’s facilities, interact with teachers and students, and witness the remarkable work accomplished throughout the school year.

Located at 916 Mt. Vernon Church Road in Chapin, The Center welcomes parents, students, and community members to embark on a comprehensive tour of the entire school during the Open House. This firsthand experience allows attendees to step into classrooms and labs, providing insights into the diverse programs and cutting-edge facilities that make The Center a hub for advanced technical studies.

A highlight of the event is the opportunity for visitors to engage with teachers, current students, and interns. Attendees can pose questions, gain insights into the curriculum, and discover the collaborative learning environment fostered at The Center. The school’s interns will proudly showcase their completed projects, offering a glimpse into the hands-on experiences and real-world applications integrated into the educational journey.

Roy Frick, Assistant Director of The Center, emphasizes the significance of the Open House. “This event is special for us because it allows us to showcase our amazing teachers and students at The Center. It allows the community to see how we are preparing our students for the workforce now.”

The Center caters to grades 9-12 throughout the district, offering a spectrum of specialized courses in 18 Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. From Aerospace Engineering to Culinary Arts, Cyber Security to Veterinary Science, The Center provides a comprehensive and innovative approach to education, aligning with the evolving demands of the workforce.
