“School District Five aims to make graduation a memorable and enjoyable experience for both graduates and their families,” said School District Five Communications Director Katrina Goggins. “We are proud to hold this annual event and celebrate all that our graduates have accomplished. Congratulations to our graduates.”

Graduation times and dates vary each year. While districts annually submit preferred dates for graduation ceremonies at the Colonial Life Arena, the arena selects and provides dates and times for several districts based on the arena’s availabilities and processes.

The Colonial Life Arena has implemented an addition to its security process for all high school graduations. The facility now has a clear bag policy, and all bags will be subject to search.  Along with the bag checks at all entrances into the facility, there will also be metal detectors at all entrances. Bag checks and wanding will be used at all patron entrances to the facility. Wanding and bag checks also will be in place at the graduates’ and staff entrance into the facility.

Parking is available for graduates at the Blossom Street garage located at 1300 Blossom Street.  Graduates should park in this garage and ride the USC Shuttle to the Lincoln Street side of the Colonial Life Arena.  Shuttle pickup to the arena will be at the corner of Sumter and Blossom streets.

Complimentary parking is available for attendees at a first come, first served basis in the Senate Street garage and the Pendleton Street garage.  Additionally, there are metered spaces available on Senate Street, near the Senate Street and Pendleton Street garages as well as, College Street and Sumter Street in front of the USC Horseshoe. A USC Shuttle will pick up at the Burns Building entrance on the corner of Sumter and College Street to ride to the Colonial Life Arena. Additional parking may be available for a fee at the Park Street garage, Lincoln Street garage, Horizon garage and the Discovery garage.

Graduation ceremonies will be live streamed on the district website and live on the district’s Facebook page. For more information on the new clear bag policy, parking or other details regarding School District Five graduation ceremonies, visit: www.lexrich5.org/graduation2019
