It was another historic showing for the Gray Collegiate Academy athletics program this past weekend.

The girls’ swimming team earned a school-best second-place finish in the Class 2A final meet held at the University of South Carolina Natatorium.

Among the gold medalists were K.P. Coker, who won the 100 freestyle and 200 individual medley and Peighton Johnson, who won the 200 freestyle.

The Lady War Eagles’ relay teams also took first place in the 200 individual medley and were second in the 200 and 400 freestyle. Sabey Coker was second in the 100 butterfly and Maddison Milton finished second in the 100 freestyle.

The boys’ team also had a medalist in Jordan Coker. He finished second in the 100 breaststroke and third in the 100 butterfly.

Gray Collegiate is coached by Magee Moody, who previously worked at the University of South Carolina.
