Lake Murray Youth Tournament

A total of 29 young people participated in the July 20 Lake Murray Youth tournament out of
Dreher Island.

The Midlands Striper Club held its annual youth tournament in which 48 striped bass were
brought to the scales weighing a total of 190.58 pounds with a 3.97-pound average.

Boone Craps won the ’10 and Under” Division with a total weight of 12.50 pounds. They were
followed by Brooks Soileau (11.97 pounds) and Luke Morris (10.73 pounds).

Boone Craps also the Boys Big Fish Award with a 6.78-pound striped bass. Kimber Taylor won
the Girls Big Fish Award with a 3.75-pound striped bass.

Kinslely Ricard won the ’11 and Older’ division with a total weight of 13.83 pounds. Ty Rodgers
placed a close second at 13.52 pounds and Ryan Taylor, who won the Boys Big Fish Award with
a 7.20-pound striped bass, came in third place.

Alie Blankenship won the Girls Big Fish Award with an 8.17-pound striped bass and Jaeda
Nash won the Jim Goller Billfish Award.

The next MSC fishing tournament is set for Aug. 17 at Clark’s Hill.

MSC is a family-oriented fishing organization dedicated to preserving our fisheries for
generations to come.  MSC’s next monthly meeting is scheduled for August 13, 2024, at the
Flight Deck in Lexington, SC doors open at 6:00 pm and Call-to-Order is at 7:00 pm.
