Veteran educator Linard McCloud has been named the new principal of Oak Pointe Elementary School. McCloud currently serves as assistant principal at Dutch Fork High School. McCloud replaces Kristie Smith who is transitioning to a new position at the District Office.
“I am blessed to have the opportunity to serve the students, staff, parents and community of Oak Pointe Elementary,” McCloud said. “I look forward to partnering with the entire Pioneer Family to ensure that Oak Pointe remains The Best School Ever.”
McCloud has been a professional educator for nearly a decade. He attended the University of South Carolina (UofSC), earning a bachelor’s degree in music. McCloud also earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University-Portland, a Master of Education in Secondary Administration and Supervision from Charleston Southern University and is currently an Education Specialist candidate at UofSC. Prior to moving into Administration at Dutch Fork High School, he served as band director at Fulmer Middle School and Alston Middle School.

Ross, Sr. “I am proud of Mr. McCloud, and I look forward to his positive energy and leadership at Oak Pointe Elementary School.”
