New Fundraising Products Honor Fallen Firefighter James “J” Michael Muller

The Irmo Fire District and Irmo Fire Foundation have partnered with Hometown 803 to launch a special line of merchandise in memory of their fallen brother, James “J” Michael Muller. All proceeds from these sales will be donated directly to the Irmo Fire Foundation’s Muller Memorial Training Fund, a restricted fund established in 2024 at the request of Muller’s wife and son.

The Muller Memorial Training Fund aims to honor James Muller by supporting the training and development of Irmo Fire District firefighters, ensuring they can reach the level of excellence that J aspired to throughout his career.

“J was a dedicated firefighter and had a thorough first response career,” said Irmo Fire Chief Mike Sonefeld. “There was no one more passionate and dedicated to his family, career, and serving people.”

James Muller tragically lost his life while responding to a fire in Columbia, dying in the line of duty while doing what he loved. His dedication to his profession and community will be remembered through this initiative.
