This is in regard to the letter by Rebecca McDaniel of Chapin that appeared in your September 17, 2024
issue of the Lake Murray News.
Her letter was very informative and probably very enlightening for a lot of folks.
This ‘per’ for citizens 85 years old an up has been around a long time.
However, I find it laughable that our SC legislative is so generous to our elderly citizens. Just imagine on
a sale of five dollars the save a whole five cents.
What a windfall!
If our gracious legislative really wanted to help the elderly, they would eliminate the sales tax completely
for this age group. They should be ashamed at such a trivial ‘perk’!
