LEXINGTON, S.C. – Five talented student artists from River Bluff High School have made a name for themselves on the state stage, earning selection to the 2025 ArtFields Jr. Competition in Lake City, South Carolina.
Seniors Savannah Fox, Hannah Harder, Tupac Mallory, Xavier Shaw, and Presley Yesnach had their artwork chosen through a competitive statewide jurying process. Their work was displayed as part of a 10-day exhibition that celebrates the best young visual artists from across South Carolina.
This year’s competition brought special recognition to two River Bluff students: Xavier Shaw had his artwork purchased by a patron during the festival—a rare honor for a high school artist—and Presley Yesnach was awarded the 2025 Student Choice Award, a distinction voted on entirely by students under the age of 18 who attended the event.
“These students have demonstrated exceptional skill, creativity, and dedication,” said River Bluff Principal Jacob Smith. “We’re incredibly proud of how they represented our school and the Lexington community.”
Students in Audra Yesnach’s AP Art and Design class traveled to Lake City on a field study to view the exhibit, support their classmates, and explore works from student and professional artists across a variety of styles and mediums.
The five students are now eligible to advance to the Midlands Regional ArtFields Jr. Competition later this summer.
