Riverbanks Zoo Announces Free Fridays, New Giraffe, and 2025 Events

Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is kicking off 2025 with the return of Free Fridays and the introduction of a new giraffe, Tahini.

Free Fridays, a community favorite, allows Richland and Lexington County residents to enjoy complimentary admission every Friday through February. Guests can explore the Zoo’s diverse wildlife and conservation efforts by presenting proof of residency at any ticket window.

Riverbanks is also welcoming Tahini, a 2-year-old reticulated giraffe born at Zoo Miami. As part of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Species Survival Plan, Tahini joins resident male giraffe Bruce and is adjusting well with guidance from 12-year-old Winston. Visitors can soon see her in her outdoor habitat.
