St. Pat’s in Five Points announces band lineup

St. Pat’s in Five Points, one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in the Southeast, announces the lineup for its 43rd event, set for March 15.

This year’s event features a variety of local, regional and national acts set to perform across multiple stages, including headlining performances from Lettuce, Shane Smith and The Saints, The Stews and Badfish. Columbia-based recording artist, producer, entrepreneur and hip-hop activist Master Splnta aka FatRat Da Czar will return as this year’s host.

“While St. Pat’s in Five Points has grown and expanded over the years, its heartbeat has long been the live musical performances,” said Heather McDonald, executive director of the Five Points Association. “This year, we’re bringing 24 acts to the festival’s six stages that showcase a mix of established and emerging talent across a variety of genres, from rock and funk to country, soul and more.”

In partnership with the University of South Carolina and sponsored by Greene Street Records, the festival will also feature a new student-focused stage in the Home Team BBQ parking lot at 700 Harden Street.

“Each year, our goal is to create a lineup that delivers high-energy, memorable performances from the first performance to the last,” said Trae Judy, talent buyer for St. Pat’s in Five Points. “We look for artists from all over—local favorites as well as regional and national acts—across a variety of genres. The festival attracts such a diverse crowd, so we want to make sure there’s something for everyone to enjoy.”

In addition to live music, the festival features a variety of vendors, food trucks, artisans and family-friendly attractions, including:
• Get to the Green 5K/10K and 1-Mile Family Fun Run will begin at 7:30 am on Devine Street near the festival entrance. Registration includes a “Get to the Green” race shirt and medal along with festival entry.
• St. Pat’s Parade begins at 10 am and covers a one-mile route that starts at Devine Street and Sims Avenue and ends on College Street.
• Pot O’Gold Playland, a children’s area offering balloon artistry, face painting, rides and more, will be open from 10 am-6 pm in the Andy’s Deli parking lot at 2005 Greene St.
• The Saint mocktail lounge returns this year near the Greene Street entrance.
• An inflatable Irish pub will join the festival’s Food Truck Alley on Devine Street.
