Three wrestling champions crowned from Lake Murray Region

The Lake Murray region produced three state wrestling champions this past weekend in Anderson. In Class 5A, Lexington’s Breydon Jennings won the 144-pound division and William Lede placed third at 150 pounds.

River Bluff’s Jason Neblo won the 215-pound division with a pinfall in the final. Teammate Reese Lawrence won silver at 190 pounds and Edward Pitts placed third at 175 pounds.

Other Class 5A medalist were White Knoll’s Logan Taylor (165 pounds – 3rd place) and Carlos Ponce (175 pounds – 4th place).

In Class 3A, Hayden Schroeder of Gilbert won the 132-pound division for the second straight year. Teammate Jonathan Brentlinger (144 pounds) and Colton Travis (190 pounds) placed second in their respective divisions. In the girls division, Gilbert’s Rory Travis placed second at 145 pounds.

The lone Class 2A medalist from the Lake Murray region was Pelion’s Landon Byrd who placed second at 106 pounds.
