County Employees Wear Red to Support Heart Health Awareness

Richland County employees proudly participated in National Wear Red Day on February 2, as part of the American Heart Association’s (AHA) initiative to raise awareness about heart disease in women.

The County’s commitment to promoting heart health for women will continue with various upcoming events:

  • Move More Challenge: Later this month, employees will engage in the AHA’s Move More Challenge, encouraging physical activity to celebrate heart and stroke survivors.

  • Go Red for Women Lunch & Learn (February 28): An event focused on women’s heart health, providing a healthy lunch and emphasizing how small actions can lead to significant changes in heart health. Please note that this event is already sold out.

  • Midlands Heart Walk (March 23): Richland County will actively participate in the Midlands Heart Walk at Segra Park, contributing to fundraising efforts for heart disease and stroke research.

Through these initiatives, Richland County aims to foster awareness, encourage healthy habits, and contribute to the ongoing research to combat heart disease and stroke.
