Emma Lindsay wins class ring competition

Emma Lindsay, of Newberry, has been named one of two winners of the annual Newberry College Alumni Association Class Ring Competition.

This comes after Lindsay wrote an award-winning essay on what receiving a Newberry College class ring means to her and how she plans to serve her alma mater and community after graduation.

The Newberry Academy graduate is an upperclassman majoring in Communications.

The winners have been awarded $500 toward the purchase of a Newberry class ring, which they will receive October 4 in a traditional ceremony part of Family Weekend.
