The South Carolina Philharmonic will host an evening of music and wine at the Koger Center on Thursday, January 18, at 7:30 p.m. The event, called “Wolfgang & Wine,” will feature three beautiful pieces of music and a special wine-tasting experience.
The concert will begin with Concertino Cusqueño by Gabriela Lena Frank, a lively piece inspired by Peruvian dances. Next, musicians Joseph Eller and Patrick Herring will perform Richard Strauss’ Duet Concertino for Clarinet and Bassoon, a duet showcasing the harmony of their instruments. The evening will end with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Symphony No. 39, a grand and elegant symphony.
To celebrate the Philharmonic’s 60th anniversary, the Koger Center will offer a wine-tasting experience starting at 6:30 p.m. before the concert and during intermission. Guests can sample wines from Austria, Italy, and nearby regions, with some selections from areas Mozart himself is said to have enjoyed.
Tickets are available now, and no RSVP is needed for the wine tasting. Join the SC Philharmonic for an unforgettable night of music and wine.
