The Lexington softball team won its Varsity Blues Invitational tournament in dramatic fashion.
After defeating Saluda 7-2 on Thursday and routed Airport 18-3 in three innings Saturday, the
Lady Wildcats faced Dorman in the Silver Division final.
The Lady Cavaliers jumped out to a 3-0 lead through the first three innings. Lexington tied the
game at 3-3 in the bottom half of the third inning on an RBI single by Payton Melinauskas and
two errors on balls hit by Alaina Henry and Sam Craig.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Emma Melinauskas hit a leadoff double. Robyn Craig followed
with a walkoff RBI double to win the game.
