Lexington High Student Receives $40,000 Scholarship and Internship Offer from Amazon

It’s truly remarkable to see students like Camila Rivera de Jesús from Lexington High School being recognized for their exceptional achievements. As one of only two students in South Carolina among the 400 recipients nationwide, Camila has been awarded the prestigious Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship, along with a paid internship opportunity at Amazon after her freshman year of college.

This scholarship, a part of Amazon Future Engineer, is a significant step towards inspiring and educating students from underrepresented and historically underserved communities in the fields of computer science and engineering. Camila will be attending the University of Massachusetts: Amherst, Commonwealth Honors College, where she plans to study Computer Science. Her aspirations include completing the Amazon internship, specializing in Machine Learning, and continuing her research work in the STEM field.
