Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon has announced the following promotions and transfers, including two appointments to his executive and command staff.
Hampton Taylor has been promoted to major of operations. Taylor, a resident of Lexington, previously served as captain of major crimes. He was appointed to serve as deputy sheriff in January 2000.
Jesse Laintz has been promoted to captain of major crimes. Laintz, a resident of Lexington, previously served as the lieutenant of major crimes. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in March 2006.
Clayton Anderson has been promoted to sergeant in the Lexington County Detention Center. Anderson, a resident of Saluda, previously served as a master correctional officer. He was appointed to serve as a detention deputy sheriff in February 2017.
Philip Apgar has been promoted to school resource officer. Apgar, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a patrol deputy. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in November 2017.
Scott Barber has been promoted to resident deputy of Three Fountains. Barber, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a school resource officer. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in December 2007.
David Brandt has been promoted to field training officer in patrol. Brandt, a resident of Newberry, previously served as a patrol deputy. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in October 2017.
Chris Burnett has been promoted to master deputy in patrol. Burnett, a resident of Leesville, previously served as a field training officer in patrol. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in February 2015.
Brian Burrell has been promoted to sergeant in patrol. Burrell, a resident of Chapin, previously served as an investigator in major crimes. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in August 2010.
David Day has been promoted to inspector. Day, a resident of Ward, previously served as sergeant of Professional Standards. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in November 2003.
Stacey Gadson has been promoted to sergeant in Community Services. Gadson, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a resident deputy. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in May 2000.
Jacob Hendrix has been promoted to investigator. Hendrix, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a resident deputy. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in September 2014.
Crystal Jenkins-Merritt has been promoted to field training officer in the Lexington County Detention Center. Jenkins-Merritt, a resident of Columbia, previously served as a correctional officer. She was appointed to serve as a detention deputy sheriff in September 2017.
Jason Jones has been promoted to investigator. Jones, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a deputy in the traffic unit. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in October 2005.
Brandon Keisler has been promoted to information services manager. Keisler, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a PC LAN specialist. He has been with the agency since September 2014.
Michael Medlin has been promoted to a deputy in the traffic unit. Medlin, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a master deputy in patrol. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in May 2014.
Alex Mountzouros has been promoted to patrol sergeant. Mountzouros, a resident of Lexington, previously served as an investigator. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in May 2011.
David Orr has been promoted to sergeant in the Lexington County Detention Center. Orr, a resident of Batesburg, previously served as a correctional officer. He was appointed to serve as a detention deputy sheriff in April 2017.

Tom Robinson has been promoted to part-time victim assistance coordinator. Robinson, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a volunteer victim assistance clerk. He has served with the agency since October 2018.
Joshua Scoggins has been promoted to serve as resident deputy of Lexington. Scoggins, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a patrol deputy. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in August 2016.
Art Seboe has been promoted to field training officer for patrol. Seboe, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a patrol deputy. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in December 2017.
