The Town of Lexington annual Toys for Tots “Fill the MRAP” campaign began November 20 and will continue through December 10 with donation events scheduled at the Town of Lexington Municipal Complex, the Icehouse Amphitheater, Kmart, Target, Walmart, Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt and Mellow Mushroom.
As in years past, the objective for this year’s Toys for Tots campaign will be to fill the Lexington Police Department Emergency Services Team (E.S.T.) MRAP vehicle with toy donations. Unless needed elsewhere, the E.S.T. MRAP vehicle will be at each planned donation event listed in this news release.
The Toys for Tots “Fill the MRAP” schedule includes events on the following days and times:
November 26 – Kmart – 1 pm – 7 pm
November 27 – Target – 1 pm – 7 pm
November 28 – Walmart – 1 pm – 7 pm
November 29 – Kmart – 1 pm – 7 pm
December 1 – Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt – 1 pm – 5 pm
December 2 – Icehouse Amphitheater – 5 pm – 7 pm
December 3 – Target – 1 pm – 7 pm
December 4 – Mellow Mushroom – 4 pm – 9 pm
December 5 – Target – 1 pm – 7 pm
December 6 – Walmart – 1 pm – 7 pm
December 7 – Kmart – 1 pm – 7 pm
December 10 – Walmart – 1 pm – 7 pm
Along with events at Kmart, Walmart and Target, four special Toys for Tots “Fill the MRAP” events have been planned in this year’s schedule to provide opportunities to donate that are fun for the entire family.
December 1, the Lexington Police Department will be at Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt which is located at 5580 Sunset Boulevard in Lexington from 1 pm until 5 pm with Midlands Fatherhood Coalition. DJ Rick Smooth will have Christmas karaoke and music going outside. Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt will give a coupon for free frozen yogurt for every toy donated to Toys for Tots at this event. Santa may be making an appearance at this event and will be announced via social media.
December 2 the Lexington Police Department MRAP will be at the Icehouse Amphitheater after the Town of Lexington Christmas Parade with Santa available for photographs from 5 pm until 7 pm Refreshments will be served at this event.
December 4 the Lexington Police Department will be at Mellow Mushroom which is located at 5364 Sunset Blvd. in Lexington from 4 pm until 9 pm with Midlands Fatherhood Coalition. DJ Rick Smooth will have Christmas karaoke and music going on outside. Mellow Mushroom and Sam Adams Beer will have a stainless steel cooler prize package raffle at this event with tickets given for each toy donated. Santa may be making an appearance at this event and will be announced via social media.
