New Lake Murray Restaurant Adds a Unique Twist

A new dining spot is making waves on the south side of Lake Murray by combining the charm of a restaurant with the convenience of a small grocery store. SouthShore Grill and Grocery, now open daily from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., offers a fresh take on lakefront dining at 3106 US 378, Leesville, right next to SouthShore Marina.

Owned by Walter “Trip” Turbyfil, who also runs the popular Café Strudel locations in West Columbia and Lexington, SouthShore Grill and Grocery aims to bring the same level of consistent quality that has made his other ventures local favorites. “We consistently serve great food and drink,” said Trip. “I think that’s probably why it works.”

During the restaurant’s soft opening, the menu featured a variety of dishes, including gyros, shrimp and grits, the S.S. burger, catfish wings, and grouper bites. Turbyfil plans to expand the menu over time, with the addition of lunch and Sunday brunch offerings on the horizon.

Guests can enjoy their meals on the expansive deck with views of the marina and lake or opt for indoor seating at the bar. With plenty of space for dining, SouthShore Grill and Grocery will also offer both hot meals and ready-made options for those on the go.
