Sion Owen, certified brace specialist and pedorthist, has announced the re-opening of his store now independently titled The Orthocare Place, located at 7001 St. Andrews Road A-17 in the Murraywood Shopping Centre in Irmo.
Formerly Foot Solutions of Columbia, Owen rebranded during the Coronavirus shut down offering a wider variety of products and services as a BOC Accredited medical focal point.
“We really outgrew the Foot Solutions franchise so during our shut-down we re-branded into an orthotic and prosthetic medical facility so that we can be essential business should the pandemic cause further shut-downs,” said Owen. “Many of our diabetic patients were not able to be serviced as we were originally a family shoe store by classification so we remedied that by branching out on our own. We still offer comfort shoes and orthotics as in the past but now we have created stronger partnerships with some of our vendors and referral sources. As a medical boutique, we focus on fit for health through comfort shoes, compression sock and hosiery, custom orthotics, diabetic footwear, wound care supplies, medical equipment and, yes, our nail spa for hard to cut nails and reflexology is still up and running.”
