Richland County – Get ready for a weekend of farm-fresh fun and artistic flair as Richland County hosts the annual S.C. Ag + Art Tour on June 8-9, from 9 am to 4 pm. This year’s event features 20 farm- and arts-related sites and showcases over 100 local artisans.
Now in its 13th year, the S.C. Ag + Art Tour celebrates South Carolina’s agricultural significance and rich artistic heritage. Richland County, participating for the fifth time, joins 19 other counties in what has become the nation’s largest free farm and arts tour.
The self-guided tour offers residents a unique opportunity to explore where their food and fiber come from while enjoying works by local painters, potters, quilters, writers, musicians, storytellers, and bakers. “Farms are one of the best places to see why we need healthy soil and clean water, because they produce the food, fiber, and timber that sustain life,” said Chanda Cooper, conservation education analyst for the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District (RSWCD). “The Ag + Art Tour is a great way to showcase those natural resources to our community, helping people connect with the land, the farmers, and the art, history, and culture of our county,” Cooper added.
Participating sites for the tour on Saturday, June 8, and Sunday, June 9 include:
- The Congaree Milling Co.
- Cottle Farm
- Crooked Cedar Farm
