American Floral started with humble beginnings some 27 years ago when Scott Jones decided to get into the floral business from his garage. His parents helped him out by donating an old Lincoln Continental so that he would have a vehicle to deliver flowers in and Scott set out to work.
Since then, Scott and American Floral have created unique designs and with their unequaled customer service, they have provided arrangements for more than 3000 weddings. The customer service begins when Scott holds a personal consultation with each wedding order so that he may learn the customer’s vision of what they expect and achieve those qualities for the wedding. American Floral then takes that vision and create incredible displays of awesome beauty.
“We pride ourselves on getting it right and you will be amazed,” said Jones.
American Floral is located in a place well known to most Irmese. The old ‘Cement Pond’ skating rink at 7565 St. Andrews Rd. houses the floral business and if you ask politely Scott may even show you the disco ball that still hangs above the wooden roller rink floor. The atmosphere is always relaxed and it smells good too.
Scott is married to Kim who, with their two children Riley and Blake, helps out around the shop and keeps things in the family. “It’s our family helping your family,” said Jones. “We are humbled by your patronage and when you become our customer you become part of our family.”
American Floral has been recognized by the Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce as the “Small Business of the Year” and has won accolades for its award-winning designs many times over the years.
“We are honored and grateful that the Town of Irmo recognized us as the September Business of the Month,” said Scott. “We hope that you will come by and see how we can make your wedding unforgettable.”
Scott served as Chairman of the Board for the Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce along with service to the District 5 Foundation Board, PRISMA Health Foundation Board, and was past president of the Columbia Bridal Association.
