The Lake Murray region added more history at the South Carolina High School League Individual State Wrestling Championships held at the Florence Center.

Givyn Dyer made school history at Airport High School. The senior pinned Greenwood’s Maia Hunt to capture the 140-pound state title.
The championship marked Dyer’s third appearance in a state final and her second career medal after finishing third in 2024. She becomes Airport’s first-ever girls wrestling state champion.
River Bluff High School also celebrated a first-time champion as Kyrra Shipman-Lutz secured the 190-pound gold medal. She earned the title with a pinfall victory over Greenwood’s Heaven Whatley.
River Bluff added two more medalists:
- Sophia Voudouris (135 pounds)
- Amy Robinson (155 pounds)
The performances continued the strong showing by Midlands programs and underscored the rapid growth and competitive success of girls wrestling across the region.
