Another “coaching tree” member of legendary Lexington High School head coach Bailey Harris is a win away from a state championship game appearance.
Greer head coach Devin Liferidge has his team in the Class 4A Upper State title game at 4 p.m. Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets held off Lancaster 65-53 in the third round last Thursday.
They will face Riverside, who defeated Westside 63-61 in double overtime.
Liferidge looks to become the fourth former Wildcat player since 2017 to reach the state finals. Dorman head coach has won five state titles during this span, defeating Bret Jones of Dutch Fork in 2020 and losing to Ben Lee of River Bluff in 2021.
The Upper State final winner will face either Lower State final winner Ridge View or James Island for the Class 4A title.
