A ribbon-cutting was held by the Global Strategies Holding Corporation on Thursday, June 16 in front of their new building, Upcycle Facility, located at 300 E. Boundary Street. Paul Sadler, President of the Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce hosted the event which included Representative Chip Huggins, Senator Ronnie Cromer and Chapin Mayor Albert Koon.
The manufacturing plant will produce The Demo Bag®, which is available at all major construction retailers across the United States It can carry up to ten times the amount of waste that a typical trash bag can hold, and it costs the same or less than its competition. The Demo Bag® and other products produced at the company’s Chapin facility will be made from converting rPET or recycled polyethylene terephthalate, such as water bottles, into a sustainable woven material. Facility tours were provided also.
