Today, we have a picture of a true athlete who is over 70 years old and has applied the experience he learned from playing sports when he was younger to his golf game.
Many of us have forgotten how we used to swing a baseball bat. We held the bat without gripping it so tightly that we locked our wrists and killed the bat speed we could have produced.
Did we swing while keeping all our weight on our back foot? No. We stepped into our front foot as soon as the pitcher released the ball.
Then we swung the barrel—the big end of the bat—quickly, trying to make contact before the ball sailed into the catcher’s mitt. Because many of our fathers started us playing baseball at a young age, swinging at a ball was a natural movement.
Maybe we should approach the golf swing in a more natural way instead of constantly trying to put ourselves in the “right” positions.

Relax your grip. Let your body move naturally. Use the athletic motion you learned when you were younger.
Give it a try. You might enjoy the game a whole lot more!
