Lake Murray standout seniors played their final high school softball games Tuesday and Wednesday at Lexington High School.
Maya Drennon and Livi Warren got a last “curtain call” at their home field for the S.C. Coaches Association of Women’s Sports North-South games. Both were selected to the South A/3A/5A team that shut out the North 12-0.
Drennon earned MVP honors for the South and White Knoll head coach April Farr was an assistant coach.
Along with the All-Star game, Warren was presented her All-State plaque for making the CAWS All-State team. She and teammate Payton Gonce were selected in Class 5A.




Class 2A had four All-State selections from the Lake Murray area. They were sophomores Ainsley Minchew and Kate Shealy of Batesburg-Leesville, Katie Gallman of Mid-Carolina and Miller Martin of state champion Saluda.
The North edged the South 8-7 in the Class 3A/4A contest. Carley Melton of Gilbert was a member of the South team.
Lexington County Baseball Stadium to hold SCBCA North-South Game
For the first time, the home of the Lexington County Blowfish will serve as the site for the S.C. Baseball Coaches Association’s North-South Game.
A tripleheader is scheduled to take place Tuesday starting at 11 a.m. with the Class 3A/4A game. The Class 1A/2A game will follow at 1:30 p.m. and the event concludes with the Class 5A game at 4 p.m.
Grant Royer and Kitt McLauchlin, both of Gilbert, were selected to the South 3A/4A team. Braydon Hallman and Tyler Kneece, both of Batesburg-Leesville, and Colby Livingston of Mid-Carolina will play for the North 1A/2A team.
Jack Epps of Lexington Dillon Wood of White Knoll and Peyton Hewitt and Walker Godwin of River Bluff were named to the Class 5A team.
