The Lake Murray region were In high standing for the final regular season S.C. Baseball Coaches Association’s Top 10 polls.
Region champions Gilbert and Mid-Carolina were number one in Classes 3A and 2A, respectively.
In Class 5A Division I Lexington was one of three Region 4-5A teams to place in the Top 10. The Wildcats ended the regular season splitting two games with second-ranked Blythewood in potentially a possible preview of an Class 5A Division I playoff matchup.
The Bengals scored six runs in the fourth inning in a 8-5 win at Lexington. The Wildcats scored two runs in the Top 7th for a 4-2 win at Blythewood.
Both teams had first-round byes and will open play Saturday.
