Lexington County School District One Announces Finalists for Superintendent Position

After a rigorous selection process, the Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees has identified three outstanding candidates as finalists for the position of Superintendent-elect/Superintendent. From a pool of 12 applicants, Dr. Chris Ballenger, Mr. Keith Price, and Dr. Erin Slater have emerged as the top contenders.

Chairwoman Anne Marie Green expressed the board’s enthusiasm for the finalists, stating, “We are very pleased to have these three highly qualified educational professionals express their interest in leading our school district.” To provide an opportunity for the community to meet the finalists, a special meet and greet event has been scheduled for April 8, 2024, from 5 to 6 p.m. at Central Services. Employees, parents, students, and community members are encouraged to attend and engage with the candidates. Following the meet and greet, the final round of interviews will be conducted.

“We look forward to our community learning more about these leaders as we move into the final phase of our search and receiving their feedback,” Chairwoman Green continued. “I also want to thank our Board of Trustees for their hard work in this search process. We know how important this decision is to the entire Lexington One family, and we are dedicated to a successful search process.”

In accordance with S.C. Code of Laws, Section 30-4-40 (a)(13), the resumes for all three finalists have been made available online for public review.
