Lexington County Tax Billing and Collections System Going Offline

Starting at noon this Friday, July 19, all Lexington County services related to property taxes will be unavailable for up to five days due to the installation of a new property tax billing and collection system. This temporary disruption will affect both online and in-person functions of the Lexington County Treasurer’s and Auditor’s Offices.

During this period, the following services will be unavailable:

  • Processing appeals or issuing new property tax notices
  • Providing refunds
  • Processing payments
  • Issuing receipts
  • Issuing vehicle registration decals

Property tax notice payments submitted on time during the service disruption will not incur any DMV late penalties, despite the inability to process payments during the system changeover.

The new system aims to enhance efficiency and improve service delivery. However, once the system is live, residents should be prepared for potential technical issues as the transition is completed.

For more information and updates, please visit the Lexington County official website or contact the Treasurer’s and Auditor’s Offices directly.
