It was a day of mixed news for Lexington girls’ basketball.
The Lady Wildcats moved into the S.C. Basketball Coaches Association’s Class 5A Division I top 10 for the first time this season. They jumped to eighth in the poll after winning their first four games.
On the same day, however, Lexington suffered its first loss of the season. It fell 43-36 at home to A.C. Flora.
The Lady Wildcats trailed at halftime before outscoring the Lady Falcons 17-4 to take a 30-28 lead into the fourth quarter. In the final five minutes, they were outscored 7-2.
This leaves Lexington head coach Molly Goodrich at 153 school wins. She’s four shy of surpassing David Long’s school record of 156.
The White Knoll girls are ranked ninth in Class 5A Division II. On Tuesday, it edged Westwood 44-42 to snap a 2-game losing streak.
