Prisma Health Urgent Care has opened a new center in Ballentine, expanding access to same-day care for residents in the Irmo and Dutch Fork communities. The facility, located at 1085 Dutch Fork Road, opened December 15 and provides walk-in treatment for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries.
The Ballentine location operates daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. Opening during peak cold and flu season, the center features advanced Spotfire one-swab testing, allowing providers to detect multiple respiratory illnesses—including flu, COVID-19, and RSV—with a single sample for faster diagnosis and treatment.
“As the Ballentine and Irmo areas continue to grow, access to timely, convenient healthcare remains essential,” said Meleia Ramseur, area clinical operations director. “This new location helps reduce unnecessary emergency room visits and ensures patients receive the right care at the right time.”
Steven Celestina, vice president of operations for Prisma Health Urgent Care, said the new center reflects the community’s need for extended hours, walk-in availability, and rapid diagnostic results. Dr. Patrice Weiss, chief medical officer for Prisma Health Medical Group, added that the location strengthens Prisma Health’s commitment to providing compassionate, convenient care close to home.
Services at Prisma Health Urgent Care–Ballentine include treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, one-swab respiratory testing, digital X-rays, on-site lab testing, occupational health services, and online check-in. The center accepts most major insurance plans, Medicaid, and self-pay options.
