Sharing God’s Love, an Irmo-based ministry, will celebrate 40 years of service with an open house on Sunday, November 10, from 3 to 5 p.m. at its headquarters, 147 Friarsgate Blvd. Since 1984, this community agency has been a refuge for those in need, providing food, clothing, and financial assistance to families in the St. Andrews, Irmo, and Ballentine areas.
“We wanted to celebrate 40 years of Sharing God’s Love with an open house so everyone could experience a few unique events,” said Executive Director Shari Selke. Visitors will have the chance to explore a living history of the agency, marking key milestones from its beginnings with the Rev. Nancy Donny and her friend Judy Boepple, who rallied 20 churches to support local families in need. Today, the organization is backed by 38 churches and serves over 10,000 people annually.
Sunday’s event will feature tours, light refreshments, and an opportunity to learn about the agency’s impact. Donations are accepted from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Saturday. For more information on donating or volunteering, call (803) 732-3188 or visit sharinggodslove.net.
