Add a new alter ego to the ever-innovative Lexington County Blowfish.
For one weekend only, the team will take the field as the “Cowfish,” donning specialty uniforms as part of a partnership with the Lexington County Farm Bureau.
Team co-owner Bill Shanahan unveiled the aesthetic jerseys during an April 22 networking luncheon held in the VIP Stadium Room. The Blowfish will wear the cow-print uniforms during games June 5–6 at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.
The jerseys feature a bold black-and-white cow print with a stars-and-stripes accent and a nameplate on the back recognizing South Carolina’s agricultural exports. A list of 31 products—ranging from peaches and watermelons to timber and collard greens—is incorporated into the design.
At 9 p.m. on June 6, following the matchup with the Macon Bacon, winners of an online jersey auction will be announced. Proceeds will benefit the Lexington County Farm Bureau Young Farmer Program. Bidding is currently underway at www.blowfishbaseball.com.
