This time it was Irmo Gold winning the District 3 tournament and Irmo Green taking runner-up. Both Irmo teams will represent District 3 when the state tournament gets underway at Northwood Little League in Taylors, SC on Friday.
Irmo Green is set to play its first game at 8 pm Friday against Barrier Island, and Irmo Gold will start at 10 am Saturday against Greenwood/Abbeville.

And in the softball 8/9/10 division there were two teams playing the district tournament at Trenholm Park, with Trenholm taking the win and Irmo taking runner-up.
The state tournament will also take place at Trenholm, with Florence, Irmo and Trenholm participating. Each team will play two games, one each against a tournament opponent, with the first one starting at 9 am, then a 10 am game, and then it wraps up with the 2 pm game; Irmo versus Trenholm.
Moving up in players’ age, other little league division teams are just starting tournament play or will very soon start. Action continues through July with the regionals at Warner Robbins, GA in early August for qualifying teams.
