Christmas Light Boat Parade Returns to Lake Murray

Lake Murray Country’s Christmas Light Boat Parade, returns on Saturday, December 2. You don’t want to miss this family-friendly waterfront event that will get everyone in the holiday spirit! Admission is FREE and open to the public at the Lake Murray Dam Public Park in Lexington (1832-1834 N Lake Dr, Lexington).

Watch as brightly decorated boats parade by decked out for the season, enjoy Christmas carols (have your phone or flashlight ready for “Silent Night”), and a fireworks finale. The park opens at 4:30 p.m., space is limited (plan to arrive early) and will close once it reaches capacity. The Boat Parade will begin at 6:00 p.m. Pack your family, friends, and a picnic, and join us on December 2 at Lake Murray!

“Lake Murray’s Christmas Light Boat Parade is a great way to get into the spirit of the holiday season. We can’t wait to see Lake Murray sparkle again with Christmas lights,” said Miriam Atria, President/CEO of the Capital City/Lake Murray Country regional tourism office.

Cash Prizes will be awarded: 1st Place – $1,000; 2nd Place – $750; 3rd Place – $500. Call the Lake Murray Country Visitors Center at 803-781-5940, go online, or stop by the Visitors Center located at 2184 North Lake Dr, Columbia to register. Boats must be 21 feet or larger to participate. Registration will close Monday, November 27 at Noon.
