The Lexington-Richland School District Five Board of Trustees unanimously approved the calendar for the 2021-2022 school year during its meeting on Monday, Feb. 8.
The calendar has school beginning for students on Aug. 18, 2021 and ending on June 3, 2022. The district will have a Fall Break again during the 2021-2022 school year: Oct. 29 will be a staff development/teacher work day and student holiday, while schools and offices
will be closed on Monday, Nov. 1.
“Producing the calendar involves balancing requirements from the state, as well as input from our advisory groups, including parents, faculty, staff and community members,” said Superintendent Dr. Christina Melton. “We are grateful for the annual input of our parents and other stakeholders, who help ensure the calendar would best suit the needs of
students, staff and our School District Five community.”
Other notable calendar features include:
· Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 24-26, 2021
· Winter Break: Dec. 20, 2021 – Dec. 31, 2021*
· (*December 20 and December 21 are work days for 240-day employees)
· Spring Break: April 11 – April 15, 2022
While half days have previously been offered at the end of the school year, they will be distributed throughout the school year during the 2021-2022 school year.
