Since we are sending tips for seniors to play better golf, the stiffness of the shafts in your golf clubs, can make a big difference in both direction and distance.
All seniors need to be fitted as we are all not the same size or strength and swing speed. Your golf swing can be suffering from having clubs that are too stiff and heavy or too whippy and light. Clubs can be made in different lengths and even getting grips of the right size and material make a huge difference. As an example, I have gone from extra stiff shafts, to stiff, then regular and now the extra light senior A shaft works really well good at 86 years old.
PGA Professional club fitting is an art , using Manufacturers interchangeable shafts and heads while you hit shots to determine proper loft and lie and which is best for you. Demo days at driving ranges and golf courses can be a good place to start educating yourself, before buying another club off the rack. Give your golf game a fair chance to succeed.

In the coming weeks, we’ll dive into the fundamentals of putting and help you find a stroke that sticks (and maybe keeps your wallet safe).
