Families throughout the Midlands are invited to attend the Junior League of Columbia’s (JLC) 2022 Healthy Kids Fun Fair at Segra Park April 2.
After two years without the event due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the JLC will host children and families to gear up for a healthy spring and summer.
“The League’s mission focuses on healthy children and families,” said JLC President Sallie Harrell. “Being able to serve families with this fantastic event after a couple of years without is something that excites every League member. Getting back to the core of why we exist in the community is a welcome resurgence.”
The fair is free and runs from 10 am to 2 pm April 2. Children and families will learn about healthy lifestyles while being able to receive free dental screenings and interact with community mascots and emergency services vehicles.
“Co-chairing this year’s event since we didn’t have one the last couple of years has been a welcomed challenge as we navigate ushering the community through the pandemic,” said co-chair Courtney Buzan.
“Providing a safe and, just as importantly, fun day for families across the Midlands brings us so much joy,” said co-chair Megan Coward.
Vendors will be at Segra Park to provide car seat inspections, exercise tips, and healthy eating suggestions. Lunch will be provided, and appearances by princesses, mascots, and superheroes are guaranteed. There will be raffles, bounce houses, and entertainment for the entire family.
