Knot Right Mafia dominates August MSC tournament

On Aug. 16, the Midlands Striper Club held their August tournament on Clark’s Hill/ Thurmond Lake with eight participating teams. 

A total of 13 striped bass were brought to the scales weighing a total of 132.46 pounds with a 10.19-pound average. There were six teams that bought a full two fish creel to the scales. 

Finishing in first place with a total weight of 42.95 pounds was Team Knot Right Mafia, pictured above, captained by Allen Rodgers along with Aaron Hatfield and Brent Rikard. They also won the Team Wildman Big Fish Award sponsored by The Nichols Store with a 21.62-pound striper and TWT Award.

Finishing in second place with a total weight of 23.23 pounds was Team Sea-n-Stripes captained by Chip Bragg along with Ryan and Kendall Eubanks.

Finishing in third place with a total weight of 16.98 pounds was Team Well Hung captained by Jason Tarlton along with Bret and Sligh McDowell.

Lady Angler Award went to Liz Sineath from Team Stone Age. Youth Angler Award went to Kendal Eubanks from Team Sea-n-Stripes. Middle of the Road went to team Stone Age with a total weight of 15.37. Smallest creel went to Team Hardcore with a total weight of 7.19 pounds.

Midlands Striper Club is a family-oriented fishing organization dedicated to, fun, fellowship, education and preserving our fisheries for generations to come.  MSC’s next monthly meeting is will be on Sept. 9 at the FlightDeck in Lexington starting at 7 p.m.
