For the second straight year — and the fifth time in program history — River Bluff finished as the runner-up at the S.C. High School League competitive cheer finals held at Colonial Life Arena.

The Lady Gators, who won the Class 3A state championship in 2013, once again placed second to archrival Lexington in the Class 5A Division I final. Fellow Region 4-5A member Dutch Fork earned a third-place finish.

The performance capped another standout season for River Bluff, which claimed the prestigious Debbie Rogers Classic title and earned a share of the Region 4-5A championship.

Airport High School was the lone Cayce/West Columbia representative in the Class 4A finals, finishing ninth overall. A.C. Flora captured the state championship after previous winner Gray Collegiate did not field a team this season.

In Class 3A, Gilbert finished second for just the second time in school history.
